Barbican Brass - Quintet |
|
'Skillful and emotive lead melodies to sensitive and precise accompaniment' Muso Magazine Barbican Brass comprises five of the most exciting young brass players in the UK today. Formed whilst they were contemporary students at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and members of the European Union Youth Orchestra, each of the ensemble's members has built an impressive reputation in their already-burgeoning individual and solo careers. Barbican Brass perform regularly at major festivals and venues throughout the UK and Europe. In March 2010, they were resident ensemble at the 'Vinterfestspill i Bergstaden' Festival in Røros, with all concerts broadcast on the NRK, Norway's National radio. Other recent highlights include recitals at the Guildford International Festival, Music in Mayfair, and a gala performance celebrating the British National Lottery's 15th Anniversary. In October 2009, Barbican Brass featured on the cover of Muso Magazine. Passionately keen on promoting new works, the ensemble have recently commissioned a new work by Andrew Brinsford and an arrangement of the 2012 Olympic Fanfare by Evan Jolly.
